Mapton is an easy to use map application that runs on your desktop.

Mapton combines the simplicity of a mobile app with the capability of being extensible with powerful custom plugins.

On its own, Mapton is a capable map application, however, Mapton is also a platform for domain specific GIS related plugin development.

How to install mapton

Click Download — the project's official release page opens in a new tab.
Download the latest .AppImage file.
Make it executable: right-click › Properties › Permissions › Allow executing as program, or run chmod +x the-file.AppImage in a terminal.
Double-click the file to run mapton — there's nothing to install, and you can delete the file to remove it.
