About GitStudio

GitStudio is a free, open-source Git client for people who work in Git all day. Stage by hunk or by line, read history in a real commit graph, resolve conflicts in a three-way merge editor, reshape history with a visual interactive rebase, and manage branches, stashes, worktrees, tags and pull requests without leaving the app. Optional AI assistance is off until you connect a provider, and it never gates or blocks a Git operation.

How to install GitStudio

  1. Click Download — the project's official release page opens in a new tab.
  2. Download the latest .AppImage file.
  3. Make it executable: right-click › Properties › Permissions › Allow executing as program, or run chmod +x the-file.AppImage in a terminal.
  4. Double-click the file to run GitStudio — there's nothing to install, and you can delete the file to remove it.
