About Gitbox
gitbox manages Git multi-account environments across GitHub, GitLab,
Gitea, Forgejo and Bitbucket. It keeps each account's clones under its
own folder, wires the right credential (Git Credential Manager, SSH or
token) per account, discovers repositories you already have on disk,
and sets up push and pull mirrors between providers.
The AppImage bundles the graphical app together with the gitbox
command-line tool and terminal UI.
How to install Gitbox
- Click Download — the project's official release page opens in a new tab.
- Download the latest .AppImage file.
- Make it executable: right-click › Properties › Permissions › Allow executing as program, or run chmod +x the-file.AppImage in a terminal.
- Double-click the file to run Gitbox — there's nothing to install, and you can delete the file to remove it.
Frequently asked questions
Is Gitbox free to download?
Yes. The Download button sends you to github.com, the developer's official site, where Gitbox is available to download. Appimo doesn't host or modify any files.
Is Gitbox safe?
Gitbox downloads directly from the developer. As always, scan the installer with your antivirus and choose Custom setup to skip any bundled extras.
